This was a final project for a class we were instructed to layout a "How to" zine that would teach the class about a subject they may not be familiar with. We also had to include a sticker sheet design that would be an insert for the zine.
My choice was to teach the class about lucha libre. I figured it was a subject that most, if not all, were unfamiliar with. I also thought it would be a fun element to design with all the ornate intricacies of wrestling masks and tights.
Growing up I was a massive professional wrestling fan and still am to this day. This was a chance to display that passion in a fun way while paying homage to my Mexican heritage. Exploring the colors, masks, and legendary stories of the wrestlers really made this design come to life.
The cover was designed in Adobe illustrator and photoshop, the characters and objects on the inside were all designed in Adobe illustrator. The "sticker sheet" was designed in illustrator as well.
