The criteria requirement for this project was to select a household item to render realistically. I chose a stand mixer since I was a professional chef for many years.
I won't lie, this assignment was dreadful for me. I'm not a big realism inspired designer, but once I got into it, the project turned out to be quite enjoyable. I used a lot of gradients and the mesh tool to give the "shaded" effect. I'm quite proud of the sheen on the chrome. It has a good reflective quality to it.
To my surprise my piece was chosen as one of a few to be displayed at my college in the glass vitrine. It's really motivated me to take on more realism designs.
